‘Allegation baseless’

ITANAGAR, Jul 20: Reacting to All Pakke-Kessang Pijeriang Dissing-Passo Seijosa Student’s Union’s claim that Pakke-Kessang, Seijosa and Dissing Passo are reeling under darkness due to non-functioning of 30KW Mini Hydel at Pakke-Kessang, the executive engineer (E), Seppa Electrical Division has termed it as a baseless allegation.

In an official release, he informed that to tackle power problem in Soibari, Itakola, Balijuri, Hatipatti gate and the Seijosa circle, a concept paper for c/o 33KV Express line from Jamuguri (Assam) to Seijosa; l/c 2x1 MVA at Seijosa has already been submitted to NEC under the initiation of the local MLA and is under constant persuasion. Our staffs are working round the clock to attend any kind of line faults.

Baliso, Dipik, Passo, Niti-Darlong etc. were the first villages under RGGVY in the entire East Kameng district to be electrified and inaugurated by Local MLA cum Minister Health and Family welfare Atum Welly on May 20, 2012. Since the entire Dissing Passo circle is fed through 11KV feeder line from Radhaso (Balijan) feeder which is further connected through Gohpur (Assam), so shutdown at Assam Counterpart ultimately leads to power crises at our end. The department officer and the staff are in constant touch with the Assam counterpart in the best possible way to restore power supply whenever some faults occur. So the allegation levelled against the departmental staff is baseless and carries no meaning, the release further added.

The peaceful land of rising sun has now become the dumping ground for all kinds of anti social elements. Is this not the failure of state machinery to control such things in order to prevail peace and tranquility in the state? AAPSU too wants rearrest of  prisoners

Terming the escape of 18 under trail prisoners from Chowkham police station lock-up as a security lapse of jail administration, All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) president Kamta Lapung today called for immediate rearrest of all those who have escaped.

Most of the accused in the gang rape of a Class-XI student of February 11 last, who were lodged in the lock up, have also escaped. Why the case was not expedited to punish the culprits of a heinous crime as well as grant justice to victim, he wondered.

Jailbreaks are taking place very often in the state where the jail management is almost defunct and the criminals are kept in the police lock ups against the norms. It is time for the state government to take urgent steps to fine tune the jail administration as the crimes would continue to be part of the society while the police are mandated to take on the criminals.  Tangible steps in this direction alone would match the state government resolve to tackle crime, he said.

Guru Purnima: Celebrating Wisdom

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

“Among the 12-13 full moons in a year, the Vaishakha Full Moon is dedicated to Buddha (his birth and enlightenment), Jyeshtha Full Moon to Mother Earth and the Aashadha Full Moon is dedicated to the memory of Masters. This is Guru-Purnima.

It is the day when the disciple wakes up in his fullness and in the wakefulness he can’t be but grateful. This gratitude is not of dwaita (you and me), but of advaita. It is not a river moving from somewhere to somewhere, but is the ocean moving within itself. So, gratefulness on Guru-Purnima symbolizes that fullness.

The purpose of the Guru Purnima celebration is to turn back and review and see in this last one year how much one has progressed in life. For a seeker, Guru Purnima is a day of significance, is a day of New Year. It is the day to review one’s progress on the spiritual path and renew one’s determination and focus on the goal, and to resolve what one wants to do in the coming year. As the full moon rises and sets, tears of gratitude arise and repose into the vastness of one’s own self.”

You know, our body has millions of cells, and each cell has its own life. Many cells are being born every day and many are dying. So, you are a moving town. So many cities are on the planet Earth and planet Earth is revolving and moving around the Sun. Same way, there are so many cells and so many living beings inside you and you are moving around. You are a moving township. Like in a beehive, there are so many bees which come and sit, but there is one queen bee. If the queen bee goes away, every other bee goes away. In the same way, there is an atom in our body, the queen bee. If that is not there, everything else goes away. Locate in that, in that tiniest of the tiny atom, the atma or the self. It is everywhere yet nowhere. That is the queen bee and that is what you are. That is what the Divine is, and that is the Guru principle.

Like there is fatherhood, motherhood, there is Guruhood also. You all have to play Guruhood at least to somebody. You do play, you keep giving advices and guiding people consciously or unconsciously, and give them love and care. But do it with 100 percent without expecting anything in return. That is living the Guruhood, living the self. There is no difference between the Divine, you and the Guru Principle. It is all coming to one thing, the queen bee.

Meditation is relaxing and reposing in that atom. So, think of all the things that you could be grateful for, and ask what you want. And bless everybody. We receive, but not just receiving is enough, we should give and bless those who are in need.

When you rest in your own nature, there is no conflict. But usually we feel a conflict. We feel bad about a negative quality we have or something that we did. A Guru is one who lifts these burdens from you that you yourself cannot carry — and kindles in you devotional love. Offer everything to the Master — your anger, your frustration, all your bad feelings and good feelings. Your negativity pulls you down. Your positive qualities bring pride and arrogance in you. Your whole life becomes a big weight. When you offer it all, you become free. You become light like a flower. You can again smile and rejoice in the moment. What remains in you is pure love.

Since ages, all this knowledge and wisdom have been passed on. On Guru Purnima, we express our gratitude to the Guru-Sishya tradition. It's the day to celebrate knowledge and love.
